Energy investment momentum creates opportunities – KSBR ready to deliver
According to the latest economic outlook published by Confederation of Finnish Construction Industries RT, Finland has investment potential worth €320 billion over the next decade. Growth is expected to be driven in particular by energy infrastructure, data centres and projects related to security of supply.
KSBR (Keski-Suomen Betonirakenne Oy), a member of the GRK Group, is currently involved in several battery energy storage system (BESS) projects and wind farm developments. A battery energy storage facility commissioned by the UK-based renewable energy company Nala Renewables is nearing completion in Kauhava, while additional facilities are under construction in Laukaa and Äänekoski, among other locations.
Wind farm projects are currently progressing in Soini and Rajamäenkylä. A site in Haapavesi is currently in the preliminary construction phase.
– KSBR’s strategic choices over the years have clearly been the right ones. Our leading market position in Finland’s wind power sector, combined with our understanding of and experience in power transmission networks and electrical infrastructure, will undoubtedly be an advantage as investment activity continues to increase, says Marko Leppänen, CEO of KSBR.
– We can provide our customers with the personnel, equipment and reliability required for demanding energy projects, an area in which we already possess extensive expertise, says Janne Kananen, who leads the Power business operations at GRK.

“Electrical infrastructure enables many new projects”
The outlook published by the construction industry also signals strong prospects for the electrical business operations of the GRK Group.
The electrical business consists of two complementary areas. GRK’s Power business focuses on the construction of power transmission networks and substations, serving network companies and public sector clients. KSBR, in turn, operates primarily in energy, industrial, wind power, battery energy storage and other private-sector projects.
– We are already seeing how the energy transition and investments in the power grid are increasing demand. Electrical infrastructure is a key enabler for many new projects, and we believe the market offers significant growth opportunities in the years ahead. We are fully prepared to meet that demand, says Janne Kananen.
