KSBR awarded new RALA qualification for Industrial construction main contracting

The evaluation committee of Rakentamisen Laatu RALA ry has awarded KSBR a RALA qualification for main contracting in industrial construction (38.1). The qualification covers demanding industrial construction projects such as power plants, mining facilities, and other construction works in industrial environments.

Obtaining the qualification indicates that KSBR’s industrial construction operations are technically competent, of high quality and meet the requirements of corporate social responsibility. The assessment criteria also took into account KSBR’s stable financial position and successful reference projects within the sector. The most recent references, completed at the end of last year, include the infrastructure contract for the Taanila commercial centre, Vestia’s leachate retention basin, and the pre-clarification basin at UPM Jämsänkoski.

– We have operated successfully in industrial construction for a long time, so it is great to now receive this new RALA qualification for the sector, says Harri Kytökangas, director of the industrial business unit.

KSBR carried out the concrete casting works for the bioproduct mill’s wastewater treatment plant as well as demanding construction works in the wood handling area. At the Stora Enso site, KSBR delivered the walls of the wastewater basins.

Multiple RALA qualifications awarded

According to Kytökangas, the qualification can be beneficial, for example, when responding to tender requests.

– Tender requests often require a RALA report or a reliable partner report. Naturally, clients who are already familiar with us also trust our work based on their own experience and know that our company is well managed. KSBR has a strong vision for operating in a responsible manner, and that approach has served us well, Kytökangas emphasizes.

The RALA audit demonstrates a company’s commitment to continuous improvement in its operations.

– At its best, our development-oriented mindset creates a competitive advantage and cost savings that our clients can benefit from.

KSBR has been granted a total of six RALA qualifications. In addition to industrial construction, these include main contracting qualifications in foundation engineering and other infrastructure construction, including associated design services.
