KSBR ranked among Finland’s largest construction companies

The latest ranking of the largest companies in Finland’s construction sector has been published by Rakennuslehti. KSBR (Keski-Suomen Betonirakenne Oy) achieved an impressive 26th place, narrowly missing the top ten fastest-growing companies. Each year, Rakennuslehti compiles financial data on Finland’s largest construction firms.

– Last year was one of profitable growth for KSBR, with revenue reaching €124 million.
It was a very good year for us. We aim to carefully select projects that suit our way of working and play to our strengths. This means projects that are sufficiently challenging yet profitable. We have succeeded in the market by leveraging our own strengths, explains CEO Marko Leppänen.

Although revenue was lower in 2024, Leppänen notes that this outcome was in line with the company’s clearly defined strategic targets.
– We focused exclusively on profitable projects and did not lay off personnel. We managed to turn a profit during a challenging period for the construction industry, which is definitely a positive achievement.

KSBR’s expertise is concentrated in four sectors: infrastructure, energy, and industrial construction, as well as building construction projects such as data centers and parking facilities.

Recruitment underway

The current year also looks very promising for the company.
– We have secured a strong order backlog for this year and need more professionals to join our team. Recruitment is currently underway, with open positions ranging from site managers to project managers, Leppänen notes.

In addition, KSBR is set to strengthen its position through a corporate acquisition. The company has signed a share purchase agreement with GRK Infra Oyj, which ranked second in Rakennuslehti’s list of Finland’s largest companies. According to the agreement, GRK will acquire KSBR along with its subsidiaries. The transaction is subject to regulatory approval. If the conditions are met, the deal is expected to be completed around July 1, 2026.
